  1. What is murder? (Gen. 1:26–27; 2:7; 4:1–10; 9:6)

    • Taking a life God has given.

    • Shedding innocent blood.

  2. How do I murder?

    • By unjustly killing another human.

    • By hating another human. (1 John 3:15)

    • By cursing another human. (James 5:9; James 3:9–10)

    • By refusing to be reconciled. (Matt. 5:21–24)

    • By devaluing another life. (James 4:2; 5:1–6)

    • By assuming God’s role as righteous judge and taking revenge. (Rom. 12:17–19)

    • By living a deceptive life. (John 8:44)

  3. How should I live?

    • Respect and value life.

    • Forgive and be reconciled. (Matt. 5:21–26)

    • Bless your enemy. (Rom 12:14, 20–21; Matt. 5:43–48)

    • Pray for one another. (Matt. 5:44)

    • Act in love. (Matt. 5:43–48)

    • Trust in God. (Rom. 12:19)
