From Lack to Love and Hope to Hope

SERIES: ROMANS

MESSAGE: From Lack to Love and Hope to Hope

TEXT: Romans 5:1-5

MESSAGE BY: Pastor J Carr

Discussion questions:

How does character produce hope?

- What kind of character develops in christians through suffering/endurance

- Have you ever experienced this?

What does it mean to hope “in the glory of God”?

- How is this object of our hope different/better than other things we hope for?

How is this biblical approach to suffering different than other approaches?

- (even than some “christian” approaches)

What does it mean to stand in grace (through Jesus, by faith)?

- Have you ever had and experience like Corrie Ten Boom when she was living in neglect of the truth of God’s empowering grace?

How do we know if the Holy Spirit is at work in us according to this text?

- Why does Paul connect this work with the certainty of our hope? (“Will not put us to shame”)
