1. God has liberated us in Christ from something. (Vv. 2–3)

   • The guilt of sin.

   • The power of sin.

2. God has liberated us in Christ for a purpose. (V. 4)
   “So that the laws requirement may be fulfilled in us.”

   • What is the laws requirement? (Matt. 5:17–20)

   • How is the law summarized? (Matt. 22:34–40)

     • Love God.

     • Love people.
       (Rom. 13:8–10; Gal. 5:14)

3. God’s Provision for us. (Vv. 4b–5)

   • How can this happen?

     • Don’t walk according to the flesh.
