  1. Take off! Lay aside the old life. (V. 1)
    (Col. 3:8; Rom. 13:12)

    • Don’t live the life you used to live. 

    • Don’t relate to others like you used to relate.

    • Don’t talk like you used to talk.

  2. Take in! Long for spiritual nourishment. (V. 2a)
    (Deut. 8:3; Ps. 119:103; John 6:32–35)

    • Take in the revealed Word.

    • Take in the living Word.

  3. Grow up! Discipline yourself toward maturity. (V. 2b)
    (2 Pet. 3:18; Heb. 6:1; 2 Pet. 1:5–11)

    • Grow in grace.

    • Grow in knowledge.

  4. Enjoy the Lord! Delight yourself in God’s kindness. (V. 3)
    (Ps. 34:8)

    • Reflect on God’s blessings.

    • Rejoice in God’s blessings.

  1. Are you living differently than you used to live?

  2. What things do you need to discard from the wardrobe of your heart?

  3. How are you being nourished spiritually?

  4. How would you measure your spiritual growth? How would others measure your growth? How would the Lord?

  5. Are you intentionally meditating on God’s blessings?

  6. Are you rejoicing in the Lord today?
