  1. Consider your calling (v. 26)

    1. Who does God call?

      1. “Not many” wise, powerful, or noble (v. 26)

        1. The Jews–religious elite

        2. The Greeks–seekers of wisdom

      2. God calls You and Me

  2. God has chosen you…the foolish, weak and insignificant (vv. 27-28)

    1. Foolishness

      1. Gideon: (Judges 6:14-16)

      2. Samson: (Judges 15:14-17)

      3. Shamgar: (Judges 3:31)

      4. Feeding of 5000: (Luke 9:10-17)

    2. Weak and Insignificant

      1. David: (1 Samuel 16)

      2. Women at the Well: (John 4)

      3. Lame man healed: (John 5)

      4. Apostle Paul: (1 Corinthians 2:2-5)

      5. The Disciples: (Matt. 4:19)

    3. God has chosen You, for His purposes!

  3. God gets the glory (vv. 29-31)

    1. He is our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (v. 30-31)

      1. Righteousness: Through our faith in Christ, we are made right by a Holy God

      2. Sanctification: Because we  are not holy, and cannot achieve that in ourselves, we are changed by His power and Spirit, and are transformed (sanctified)

      3. Redemption: When the Lord comes and takes us home to be with Himself, we will be redeemed, spirit, soul, and body

    2. The glory is God’s alone (v. 29, 31), (Jer. 9:23-24)

    1. How has God called you into fellowship with His Son?

    2. In what ways can God use you for His purposes, in His Kingdom?

    3. In what ways can you glorify God for what He has done in you or through you?
