    • It is a day of rest.

  2. When is the Sabbath Day? (Ex. 20:10)

    • The seventh day of a week.

    • The Lord’s day.
      (John 20:19; 1 Cor. 16:2; Acts 20:7; Rev. 1:10–11)

    • Remember His creative authority.

    • Reflect on His redemptive love.

    • Refuse to live as a slave.

    • Trust in daily provision. (Ex. 16:22–26)

    • To create covenant community. (Ez. 20:12; 18–21)

  4. How do I keep the Sabbath Holy?

    • Do your work.

    • Rest from labors.

    • Release others from work.

    • Remember God’s salvation.

    • Rehearse God’s law.

    • Focus on worship of God. (Mt. 12:5)

    • Do acts of mercy. (Mt. 12:10–14; Luke 6:9; 13:16)

    • Worship the Lord corporately. (Ps. 92)

    • Anticipate our ultimate Sabbath rest. (Heb. 4:1–11)

Take-aways:

  1. Are you resting in Christ?

  2. Are you making worship a priority?

  3. Are you serving the Lord in ministry?

  4. Are you intentionally focusing on Him?
